The year is winding down, but with filming on Game of Thrones season 8 still going strong, fans still have plenty of news to sort through. As you indulge in your favorite holiday traditions, let’s look back at the biggest developments in the world of Game of Thrones to emerge over the past week.

First, like we said, filming on the eighth and final season is ongoing, and little bits of information are leaking out. Importantly, we now have a very good idea of who will be behind the camera for much of the season. If their past work is any indication, we’re in for some good stuff.

Multiple cast members have been out talking about the show, and several of them have had interesting things to say. Emilia Clarke, for example, gave us insight into HBO’s stringent spoiler policy.

Isaac Hempstead Wright has had plenty to say, as well, and even teased a potentially divisive ending to the saga.

[9:04 AM]

Kit Harington gets in on the teasing, too, discussing what it’s like to film the final season of the show that’s defined his career up to this point.

[9:06 AM]

But it’s one thing to tease the new season. What do we actually know? There are SPOILERS in our midst.

[9:08 AM]

For week, the production has been building a huge set at Titanic Studios in Belfast. Let’s take a short trip there.

[9:10 AM]

Both of these SPOILERS are pretty minor league stuff. This one, on the other hand…

[9:12 AM]

With great knowledge comes great responsibility, something Liam Cunningham now knows well.

[9:14 AM]

There’s more to the world of Game of Thrones…we’ve been told. Kit Harington is in a new drama, for example.

[9:16 AM]

Finally, we check in with the stars and crew members ahead of the holidays.

Merry Christmas!
