“Hey, they were in Game of Thrones”—Where else have you seen these 55 GoT cast members? (Part 2)
5) IAN BEATTIE
We all loved to hate the vile knight of the Kingsguard Meryn Trant on Game of Thrones, but kudos have to be given to veteran actor Ian Beattie for bringing this shady villain to life. Born in Ireland, Beattie is a prolific actor who has worked in both TV and film, and he isn’t always the bad guy. That said, Beattie told Digital Trends that Thrones will probably end up to be the highlight of his career:
"I think Game of Thrones will have gone down in history for setting a benchmark for the new Golden Age of Television … If I’m still shuffling around 20 years from now, this series, and my having been in this series, will certainly go down in my book as having been the best of the best. I will always remember the fact that I was part of a Game of Thrones, and that fills me with a huge pride."
Beattie has appeared in numerous movies , including Alexander (2006, above), Closing the Ring (2007) and Starred Up (2013). One of his first roles was as a Trooper in Space Truckers (1996). He also boasts a strong TV resume, with credits on shows like The Tudors (2006), Number 2s (2015), Vikings (2015) and Barbarians Rising (2016). Like many Game of Thrones alumni, Beattie also had a stint on Doctor Who (2017, below).
Beattie will be star in the upcoming Hayfields TV series premiering later this year.
