Video: A survey of the wonderful cosplay of Con of Thrones
By Dan Selcke
Back in May, I went to Con of Thrones 2018 in Dallas to celebrate Game of Thrones with a bunch of fans who were just as into the show as I am. Moreso, really, because a lot of them came in gorgeous cosplay. I had the privilege of asking several of them about their outfits. Run the reel!
Everyone brought tremendous stuff, but I was especially impressed with the Daenerys at the top of the video, who recreated Dany’s white coat from “Beyond the Wall” herself; the gentlemen dressed as a cross between Jon Snow and King T’Challa from Black Panther; and the fan dressed as Nymeria of the Rhoynar, who sailed to Dorne from Essos with her 10,000 ships. Way to go obscure! And a special shoutout to the guy dressed as the Man in Black from Westworld, the cheeky bugger. Really, the creativity all around was terrific.
Oh, and the Beric Dondarrion with the flaming sword!
And there were a whole lot of people I didn’t talk to; congrats to everyone who took the time to buy or put something together. If you want to get a start on your own outfit for Con of Thrones 2019, here’s a good place to start.
