First look at a new villain in The Last Kingdom season 4
By Corey Smith
The Last Kingdom is currently filming its fourth season, and luckily for us, the stars are happy to share their experience. Thanks to their generosity, we have piles of behind-the-scenes images to pour over, including a look at a new villain for Uhtred (Alexander Dreymon) to square off against.
First up, one of Uhtred’s pals, Arnas Fedaravicius (Sihtric), looks like he’s having a rough day:
Or maybe he’s having a great day; they do like to fight on this show.
But Sithric is having a better day than Uhtred, who apparently has been turned into a pig…or at least that’s what Emily Cox (Brida) implies below:
Next, we have our first look at a new villain for season 4: Eardwulf, played by Jamie Blackley. This post from Toby Regbo (Aethelred) has actually been around for a few months, but this is still our only look at our new baddie in costume:
Of course, it’s not just the actors working hard. Here, we have a look at some of the show’s writers and producers celebrating the 100th day of filming on season 4. We’re not sure Edward would appreciate them lounging all over his throne, but whatever:
If he’s mad, he can go watching some Dawson’s Creek to cool down.

Mark Rowley (Finan) shares a gorgeous photo from somewhere in Hungary.:
And if you think that’s pretty, just look at this next shot of Uhtred son of Uhtred standing in a sun-dappled forest:
Another shot of this mysterious forest scene:
Magnus Bruun (Cnut) signs off for the season:
Bruun recently shaved off his long hair and beard, so season 4 might be the last we see of the Viking leader. Say it isn’t so!
Elsewhere, James Northcote (Aldhelm) shares a full-costume selfie:
Love the expression!
Northcote also shared a more revealing look at King Edward (Timothy Innes), who looks like he’s been through a battle or two:
King Edward isn’t wearing full plate in this shot. One man who’s never caught without his mail is Adrian Bouchet (Steapa), the man we’d least like to see across the field of battle.
Finally, we also get a look at Aldhelm opposite Millie Brady (Aethelflaed). Aldhelm pledged his love to Aethelflaed last season, and even if it’s not returned, at least the two seem to be enjoying some matching headwear:
And that’s a wrap for now, but with the rate this cast shares pictures, they’ll have given away the whole season before long.
