Doctor Who news: Revolution of the Daleks – Trailer and release date revealed!
By James Aggas
A brand new trailer and release date have finally been revealed for the upcoming Doctor Who special, Revolution of the Daleks!
We’ve seen quite a few teasers and images for the upcoming Doctor Who special, Revolution of the Daleks. But at last, a trailer has finally been revealed, letting fans have a good idea of just what we can expect from this story. Along with revealing exactly when the episode will be released, the trailer itself has quite a few surprises.
The first thing that stands out is Captain Jack’s return. After meeting them for the first time in Fugitive of the Judoon earlier this year, it looks like he’ll be reunited with Ryan, Yaz, and Graham in this episode, as he helps them to stop a new army of Daleks. But are these the Daleks they know?
This brings me to the second thing that stands out about the trailer: the return of Chris Noth as Jack Robertson. It seems that he’s directly involved with the creation of these new Daleks. But how? And when is the special being released? Find out for yourself in the trailer below.

Release date
As you can see, we can look forward to watching Revolution of the Daleks on New Year’s Day 2021. Which isn’t too much of a surprise. After all, along with Series 12 actually beginning on Jan 1 this year with Spyfall: Part 1, we also got the previous special episode Resolution on New Year’s Day 2019.
Speaking of Resolution: could that earlier episode play a key role in this new special? The Daleks look very different from the bronze Daleks that we’re used to by this point, but is there a reason for that? Certainly, they seem to strongly resemble the design used for Resolution – a design that was originally created out of scrap metal. Why have these new Daleks been made? How? And should we expect the bronze Daleks to return?
We can’t wait to find out on New Year’s Day 2021. If that wasn’t exciting enough, the 50th anniversary special for the Master will be released from Big Finish on Jan 2 – the day of the villain’s anniversary itself! Honestly, this looks set to be an extremely exciting New Year’s weekend!
