Luther is laid out in first photos from The Umbrella Academy season 3

The Umbrella Academy and the Sparrow Academy face off in some behind-the-scenes photos from the show’s upcoming third season.
Like many shows, Netflix’s daffy superhero series The Umbrella Academy was delayed on account of the pandemic. But like many shows, it’s bounced back, with filming currently ongoing on the show’s third season.
When last we left the super-powered, dysfunctional Hargreeves family, they’d made it back to their own time after a stint in the past dealing with the JFK assassination (I told you the show was daffy). But there was a twist: for one reason or another, their current time has changed. Their father Reginald Hargreeves is alive, as is their brother Ben, who appears to be the sinister leader of an entirely different superhero family known as the Sparrow Academy, who have a diverse set of powers to match the Hargreeves siblings we already know.
What are our heroes to do? Well, Luther (Tom Hopper) getting his ass kicked is always a good place to start. Photographer Sean O’Neill snapped a bunch of photos of Luther encountering members of the Sparrow Academy, including Ben, and apparently not being close to a match for them.
To start, we have him laid out on the ground making the confused Luther face we’ve all come to know. There’s a downed lamppost nearby so you know something went down.
There’s also a shot of Tom Hopper suspended by wires and upside down while the members of the Sparrow Academy walk on, unbothered. I’m guessing one of the Sparrow Academy members has telekinetic powers.
There’s even a video of that scene in action.
So Luther is outmatched, what else is new?
We don’t know exactly when the third season of The Umbrella Academy is coming out, but don’t expect it any earlier than towards the end of this year, and maybe into the next.
