Between a new Game of Thrones prequel, a Harry Potter TV show, The Last Kingdom movie and more, it was a busy week at WiC!

Another week, another rash of news stories from the worlds of sci-fi, fantasy, TV and movies. Let’s run them down, starting with the official announcement of a Stranger Things animated series:

Ring the alarm! HBO (or rather HBO Max, or just Max) is making another Game of Thrones prequel series:

Continue ringing the alarm! Max is also producing a new Harry Potter show based on the original books:

Okay, you can ring a little less loudly. HBO has begun filming the second season of House of the Dragon, which is exciting but less surprising than the last two things:

Netflix released The Last Kingdom movie Seven Kings Must Die! This is the end. Is it worth the watch?

Now that HBO is moving on House of the Dragon season 2, we can’t help but wonder who they’re gonna cast:

Skipping over to another (potential) Game of Thrones prequel, we mull over that Aegon the Conqueror show in development:

There are a bunch of new Star Wars shows no the way, including that will feature the live-action debut of the fan favorite villain Thrawn:

Switching over to The Wheel of Time, see some beautiful concept art from the final book in the landmark fantasy series:
