Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard

I’m a huge fan of author Rick Riordan, and I’ve been waiting for a long time to see his books be adapted as movies and shows. I already mentioned Percy Jackson, which is hopefully going to be great on Disney+! Another one of the book series I hope gets adapted is Magnus Chase and the Gods of Asgard. It’s one of Riordan’s strongest series, and interest in Vikings-inspired content is high given the success of stuff like Vikings, Vikings: Valhalla, and the Thor movies.

The series focuses on Magnus Chase, the son of a Norse god and the cousin of Annabeth Chase from the Percy Jackson books. Magnus tries to stop the end of the world, also known as Ragnarok!

There’s a lot of pressure on the Percy Jackson series in development at Disney+. If it works and becomes popular, there’s a better chance that more of Riordan’s stories become TV shows and movies.

Over the last few years, Disney Hyperion launched its ‘Rick Riordan Presents’ imprint, which are fantasy YA books that focus on mythology and stories from non-Greek/Roman/Norse culture. The Tristan Strong trilogy by Kwame Mbalia, the Aru Shah series by Roshani Chokshi, and more books and series from the imprint would make great TV shows.
