WiC Predicts: Exactly what happens in each episode of House of the Dragon season 2
By Dan Selcke
Thank you for reading my wild guesses
Obviously, these are all educated guesses based on what we know of George R.R. Martin’s book Fire & Blood and what we’ve seen on set. There’s no guarantee any of this will happen as we say. In fact, I’m kind of hoping some of it won’t. I’ve included a lot of big battles on this list, but I sort of hope we have a few episodes where we mostly get to just sit with the characters. That way the battles will hit harder when the come.
Also, I’m not sure it’s possible from a production standpoint to pull all of this off. I was particularly ambitious with the finale, which posits that we’ll see the Battle of the Honeywine, the Battle at the Red Fork, the Fishfeed and the fall of King’s Landing all in one episode. And this after the Battle of the Gullet and the Battle at Rook’s Rest, plus lots of scenes involving dragons in between there. House of the Dragon is an expensive show, but I don’t know if it’s got that much money, or that much time. I’d like to see this new season before the heat death of the universe.
So maybe some things will be stretched out, or maybe some battle scenes will be moved into other seasons, or just referred to rather than depicted onscreen. Still, we do know that some big events are coming. Producer Sara Hess said that fans won’t be “disappointed” when it comes to Blood and Cheese. And we’re pretty sure the Battle at Rook’s Rest is happening in Episode 4. We’ve seen a few processions through the streets of King’s Landing, a large ship set, and more.
The second season of House of the Dragon will air on HBO and Max sometime in 2024. Until then, how do you think it will go?
