Kristian Nairn Hodors his first Hodor (releases his first dance single)
By Dan Selcke
Plenty of actors on Game of Thrones have used the show’s visibility to help their careers, mostly by parlaying it into other TV or film roles (Emilia Clarke in Terminator, Sophie Turner in X-Men, etc…). Northern Irish actor Kristian Nairn, who plays Hodor, has also taken advantage of the show’s popularity, but his path has been a little less predictable.
Nairn, who was a DJ before he joined the casts of Game of Thrones, didn’t appear on the show’s most recent season. He took the time off to travel Australia as part of the “Rave of Thrones” tour, where he showcased “some of the deepest house from all seven kingdoms.” Now, Nairn has released a two-track dance single, “Up/Beacon,” with vocals by Leanne Robinson.
Honestly, I could see myself Hodoring out to this. Well done, Mr. Nairn.
According to the Entertainment section of Independent.ie, Nairn has plans to release more music before too long. Now the question becomes which Game of Thrones cast member has a musical hobby more at odds with their character on the show: Nairn and his club tracks or Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and his soft folk stylings.
