Bran is back! Isaac Hempstead Wright confirms return to Game of Thrones

The last time we saw our dear Bran, it was in the Game of Thrones Season 4 finale, when he asked the three-eyed-crow if he’d ever walk again. The answer? “You will never walk again, Bran, but you will fly.” And that was where we left him…on the floor of a cave, some old dude with weirwood branches growing in and out of his body telling him that his dream of one day being a knight was forever over.

Fast-forward to Season 5, and Bran is nowhere to be seen. His story had reached the same point it had in George R.R. Martin’s A Song of Ice and Fire series, and the producers of the show decided to give him some time off so the rest of the stories could catch up. For the moment, they left Bran to ride the pine.

Well, now it’s time to film Season 6 and Bran is back! Talking to the Irish Examiner, Isaac Hempstead Wright confirmed that he will return to his role as Bran Stark.

"I can’t say a lot but I am back this season, and it’s going to get particularly interesting with Bran. He has some interesting visions."

Interesting visions? I can think of a few…don’t worry, this isn’t one of those spoiler-filled pieces; your Unsullied eyes are safe. However, as a book reader, knowing that Bran will be having those interesting dreams makes me quite happy. There has yet to be any word on the return of both Hodor (Kristian Nairn) and/or Meera Reed (Ellie Kendrick), but one remains hopeful.

Interestingly enough, Wright hasn’t yet seen Season 5, stating that his exams were more important (good for him), and that he plans on binge-watching it very soon. He was, of course, asked about the fate of Jon Snow. He replied that he didn’t know if Jon would come back, adding that he wished he would because he loves Kit and think’s the character of Jon Snow is “so cool.” His parting shot on the subject: “We start filming series six at the end of this month (July) so we’ll see.”

Seems as if Isaac has already been coached on how to respond to media questions about everyone’s favorite bastard. Hey, who else is hoping that Bran wargs into Ghost and bites Olly in half next season? Show of hands? *raises hand*
