Irish Thrones stands ready to watch the Seven Kingdoms for us, as filming continues in the North. Yesterday, the Twitter account reported that Aiden Gillan’s trailer is in Moneyglass, near the new set that’s going up. Speaking of that set, despite early reports that it was a new area, agreement seems to be coalescing that it’s Winterfell. Perhaps Sansa and Theon will pull a Bran&Rickon on Ramsey Snow after all.

Gillan’s trailer
And unlike the Magilligan set, this time there seem to be plenty of horses.
Today, that account is also bringing word from a source of another Ireland locale on the Season 6 docket.
BREAKING: from a reliable source- #GameofThrones production to return to Ballintoy Harbour on Irish north Coast in coming weeks #IRONISLANDS

The last time Game of Thrones filmed in Ballintoy Harbour was all the way back in 2011, when it filmed scenes for Theon’s arrival home to Pyke in Season 2. With rumors suggesting that we will finally see Victarion and/or Euron Greyjoy (the “pirate” in the casting list, and one of the more likely roles that might have gone to the newly cast Ian McShane), this further suggests we’ll finally head back to the Iron Islands for Season 6, after chopping that plot thread all together in favor of Dorne last season.
It should be remembered though, that the last time the show went to Ballintoy Harbour, it wasn’t the easiest filming. A hurricane damaged part of the set at one point. Let’s hope, if the rumor comes to pass, that the show’s next trip to the Iron Islands runs smoother.
