Tyrell Soldiers March into Girona and Season 6

It’s been a while since the lances of the Tyrell family have marched anywhere. The last time we saw them was in Seaosn 2, when Renly was king and the love of his life, Loras Tyrell, willingly aided his claim to the crown. Of course, we know how that all turned out, with Renly dead, and Margaery taking charge to realign the Tyrell banners with the Lannisters in order to defeat Stannis Baratheon and win herself the place of the next potential Joffrey victim in Westeros’ long running reality series, So You Want To Be The Queen?

Since then, the Tyrells have given much to King’s Landing, including food, money and some of that hopey-changey stuff we’re always hearing about. But we haven’t seen them flex their their military muscle in a while. It looks like that’s about to change. Los Siete Reinos has spoilery reports from filming yesterday, backed up by this photo from the El Punta Avui gallery, that clearly show that someone has decided it’s time to rehearse the Tyrell banners gathering.

Note the yellow Tyrell rose on the shield in the lower right-hand corner of the picture.

Why are the Tyrell forced amassing? Is this the jail break of Margaery and Loras we’ve been waiting for? Or is Margaery already out, and the Tyrells decided that the Lannister alliance is over? (Could this be because Tommen is dead, and Margaery is fighting to remain in power? C’mon, we all know the chances of Tommen surviving this season are astronomically low, and when her third child offs it, Cersei is going to go out of whatever mind she had left.) Rumor has it that Natalie Dormer is already in Girona, though we have no visual evidence as of yet.

On the other hand, there are now tons of pictures of Maisie all over Girona. Diari de Girona dedicated their gallery to her today.

(Look ma! No contacts!)

LSR also reports that the litter carrying we saw being rehearsed last week was finally filmed. But with the livery who carried it unmarked, and the palanquin itself also seemingly unmarked, so it’s hard to know what scene it was for, or who might have been aboard.

Over on the Braavosi side of the city, Arya Stark (or in this case, her stunt double) continues filming daring feats of bravery around the city.

While mules and chickens were also seen walking to the Braavos marketplace for filming along with other extras.
