Game of Thrones Keeps Saintfield on Lockdown, But Pics and Video Still Leak

At this point, it’s obvious that whatever the production team is filming in Saintfield will be the climax of Game of Thrones Season 6. The team is rounding it’s eighth week of filming, and with pictures of giant spoilers leaking onto the internet, it’s not all that surprising that the show has gone into ultra-lockdown mode near the filming area. According to Belfast Live, the local police have set up a “near mile long” trail of traffic cones, and signs telling fans to get lost.

When asked about the high level of security in the area, the police issued a statement:

“A decision was taken to deploy officers to a site in the Saintfield area where filming for a popular television show is taking place. The officers are there in order to prevent public order breaches and any possible misuse of drones offences, covered by legislation under Civil Aviation Authority (CAA), whilst filming continues.

“The costs for the policing operation will be met by the production company.”

Even with these measures, the Belfast paper has pictures from current filming, proving that the energy, time and money being put into this over-the-top operation may in fact be as futile as resistance.

Although, considering the amount of lawn chairs in the shot, for all we know they caught the cast on a picnic break. Note the Bolton shields propped against the tent.

Perhaps fans will have more luck out in Corbet where Riverun has finished setting up?

Oh, well. Maybe not.

UPDATE: In further proof that the ingenuity of fans will pretty much always best the efforts of the production to keep things secret, Game of Thrones fan Karlas kakes took a video of the ongoing production at Saintfield while driving by in a car.

Here are some screencaps. Boltons aplenty.
