Game of Thrones Nominated for Major Editing Award, Up for People’s Choice Awards Tomorrow
HBO is once again in the spotlight, as the network’s flagship show, Game of Thrones, is up for a major editing award for its latest season. The American Cinema Editors 66th ACE Eddie Awards, which honors outstanding editing, has chosen Thrones and other HBO shows The Jinx and Bessie to compete for the trophy in the television category. Other nominees include Inside Amy Schumer, Better Call Saul, and The Deadliest Catch.
The winners will be announced on January 29, 2016, at the International Ballroom of the Beverly Hilton Hotel, in Beverly Hills, California. Behold the Eddie:
What editor wouldn’t want that on their mantle?
Speaking of awards, Game of Thrones is also in the running for a People’s Choice Award…or three:
Favorite TV Show:
- The Big Bang Theory
- Game of Thrones
- Grey’s Anatomy
- The Voice
- The Walking Dead
Game of Thrones shouldn’t have too much of a problem here. The only show I legitimately see giving Thrones a run for its money is The Walking Dead.
Favorite Cable TV Sci-Fi/Fantasy Show:
- American Horror Story
- Game of Thrones
- Outlander
- Teen Wolf
- The Walking Dead
There’s some great competition here. The only show on this list that I don’t see having a chance is Teen Wolf. If I had to hazard a guess as to the winner of this category, I’d say Outlander would be the odds-on favorite. But The Walking Dead has seen unprecedented numbers as of late, and of course American Horror Story hasn’t had a bad season yet…unless of course you count half the season of Freakshow.
Favorite Sci-Fi/Fantasy TV Actress:
- Caitriona Balfe
- Emilia Clarke
- Ginnifer Goodwin
- Jennifer Morrison
- Lady Gaga
I would say that Emilia has this one in the bag, but if you’ve watched any of this season of American Horror Story: Hotel, then you’d know that Lady Gaga has absolutely knocked it out of the park. Our Khaleesi has some stiff competition.
