Hilarity Pile: Game of Thrones Fan Creates the Ultimate Viewing Room and more

With the premiere of Game of Thrones Season 6 approaching, many fans are probably preparing their homes for their weekly viewing parties. Whether you prefer to snuggle under a blanket in you favorite chair with your significant other (pun intended), or you enjoy watching the murder and mayhem in the company of others (see previous parenthetical), the way you watch each episode of Game of Thrones is important.

Enter Reddit user Werm_Hatt, who posted a bevy of photos to the Game of Thrones subreddit, titled “Where a friend of a friend has their viewing parties.”

A staircase leads from a hallway in this superfan’s house down to the basement, where the armor and shield of Ser Duncan the Tall await.

Apparently, the lighting in the room alternates from red to blue to orange. Here’s the viewing room from the back.

And here’s a view from the front.

This is one of my favorite parts of the setup: a map of Westeros that opens upon knocking to reveal a control console. Here’s a GIF of the owner using the table. I highly suggest watching it, and trying not to be envious.

There are loads more photos to view, including a bar set up in the back of the theater, a more detailed approach from the owner’s hallway, and more up-close photos of details of the theater itself, including the dragon mounted above the TV.

Not to be outdone by some random fan, the Minus5 Ice Bar in Las Vegas has recently reopened its doors after an extensive remodel.  In addition to a bunch of other furnishings, the attraction now includes a replica Iron Throne crafted in ice, complete with LED lights…you know, to keep the party going.

According to the Los Angeles Times, guests pay $19 to get into Minus5. Heavy winter coats and gloves are included, since why would you walk around Las Vegas in winter gear? And for $39, those who wish to brave the cold can enjoy two cocktails…so there’s that.
