Brand New Game of Thrones Season 6 Posters!

Game of Thrones Season 6 promotional posters are here!

As we speak, the Game of Thrones Twitter account has shot out several of a promised 16 character posters for the upcoming season.

But if you think these are going to be posters that are going to give anything away, then you haven’t been paying attention. If you hated that teaser the production ran two weekends ago, the one set in the Hall of Faces in the House of Black and White, you are going to be less than pleased when you see these. Because these are glamour shots of character faces in the style of that promo.

Updates as we get them.

Of course, we start with Schrödinger’s Crow Jon Snow. He’s dead, haven’t you heard?

This appears to be the Sand Snake Nymeria. Note the Twitter accounts on each of these posters is different. HBO is spreading the love to their affiliates.

I thought for a second this was Benjen, but no. It’s Daario.

You can’t fool us, Game of Thrones. Melisandre isn’t going anywhere until she’s resurrected Jon Snow.

Note that the poster with Carice van Houten, a Danish actress, is tweeted by HBO Netherlands, and the one involving Pedro Pascal, a Spanish actor, is tweeted by HBO Latin America.

Unlike several of the others, this one was actually visible in the Season 6 teaser.

And Nikolaj Coster-Waldau goes to HBO Demark! I’m not sure he used the word “whom” when he said that line in Season 3.

Is this the first time that Tormund Giantsbane has been included in a promotional poster? I do believe it is.

More to come as they arrive….

Joffrey Baratheon. Death suits him.

Variety has one of Sansa.

TVLine picked up Robb.

The Hollywood Reporter got the Cersei poster, and it is by far the best yet. Even in death, she’s smirking.

I take it back. Sky Atlantic has the best one. It’s very intriguing to see that Robert Baratheon is included in this lineup. This plays into the theory that Season 6 will reveal some things about what happened during Robert’s Rebellion.

Or they’re just picking dead characters. It’s good to see Robert again, in any case.

IGN brings us dear, departed Catelyn Stark.

Arya, looking more peaceful than she ever has. This one strikes me as especially creepy.

Heeeeeeere’s Tyrion. That makes 16. Is that it?

Interesting that Ned, who was featured prominently in the teaser for a couple of weeks ago, isn’t here. And Stannis is also absent, but he always seems to get the short end of the stick.

HBO also released a couple of proper Season 6 posters, done up in this style.

The smirk on Cersei’s face is still cracking me up a bit.
