“Oathbreaker,” the intriguingly titled third episode of Game of Thrones Season 6, airs tonight. Here’s where and when and how to watch it.
- Start Time: May 8, 2016, 9 p.m. EST
- TV Info: HBO
- Episode: Season 6, Episode 3, “Oathbreaker”
- Writers: David Benioff and Dan Weiss
- Director: Daniel Sackheim
- Run time: 53 minutes
Showrunners Benioff and Weiss are back on writing duties after Dave Hill scripted “Home,” the season’s eventful second episode. Also, “Oathbreaker” is the first of two episodes this year to be directed by Game of Thrones newbie Daniel Sackheim.
Here’s HBO’s official description. As usual, it tries to give away as little as possible:
"Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) meets her future. Bran meets the past. Tommen confronts the High Sparrow (Jonathan Pryce). Arya (Maisie Williams) trains to be No One. Varys (Conleth Hill) finds an answer. Ramsay gets a gift."
What gift does Ramsay receive? What answer does Varys find? All will be revealed tonight. Also, we’ll catch up with Daenerys, spend some time in King’s Landing, and see more flashbacks with Bran. And y’know, even though her scenes have all been short, Arya’s having a pretty good year—she’s been in every episode so far.

The most interesting thing about the description is that it doesn’t mention Jon Snow, the character fans most want to hear from. I mean, the guy rose from the dead last week—surely the episode will follow up on that. According to the trailer, yes it will.
The official images from the episodes come in all shapes and sizes. We’ve got profile pictures of old friends who will be making their Season 6 debuts…

…reaction shots of what I assume are characters who have just seen a dead man walk…

…and this creepy picture of Qyburn with a bunch of children. I don’t wanna know.

What do you hope will happen in “Oathbreaker?” What do you dread? Talk about anything and everything having to do with the episode here, both before and during the actual program.
We’ll be updating the site with reactions to big moments as the episode goes on, and follow up with longer recaps a little later.
