“Battle of the Bastards” was a big episode of Game of Thrones, and it inspired a lot of jokes, memes, and parodies. Let’s dive into them.

If there was one question fans had after watching the episode, it was, “GOD RICKON WHY DON’T YOU RUN SERPENTINE?” The memes were legion.

Even actor Art Parkinson, who plays Rickon, got in on it.

Also, I’m sure we all noticed that Rickon didn’t have any lines this year. How might that conversation have gone down?

"How I imagine a certain meeting went"

Rickon wasn’t the only one who made a bad decision in “Battle of the Bastards.” While it was noble of Jon Snow to try to rush in and save his brother, it might have gone better for his army if he had followed the original plan. His headlong charge reminded one YouTuber of Leeroy Jenkins, the World of Warcraft player who famously (well, internet-famously) charged into battle too soon once upon a meme.

Happily, Jon survived his little brush trigger-happiness and made it inside Winterfell, where he pummeled Ramsay relentlessly about the face. Here he is doing it for an hour straight:

There were other meme-worthy moments from “Battle of the Bastards.” For example, remember Tormund’s parting words to Davos before the latter walked One eBay user did, and now you can buy them for your home.

Naturally, Sansa’s disposal of Ramsay Bolton created a bunch of buzz.

We’ve also got the always-reliable Ozzy Man weighing in with his take of the episode…

…and hairdresser Jonathan Van Ness breaking it all down on Gay of Thrones.

“Battle of the Bastards” dealt with a comparatively small number of characters, but there were a couple of new names in there:

  • The three slavers: Culture Club minus Boy George

Even here they were pointing out the serpentine thing.

And while he may not be missed by many, YouTuber piyush sharma wants us to remember the friend, the lover, the good family man…Ramsay Bolton.

Meanwhile, somewhere on the Iron Islands, Pilou Asbæk (Euron Greyjoy) remains hard at work…
