See what happened in the Riverlands (Video)

It’s been a couple of weeks since the events of “No One,” when Jaime sent in Edmure as the “Trojan Tully” and brought the siege of Riverrun to a speedy, largely bloodless conclusion. At the time, Jaime told Edmure that part of the reason he wanted to end the siege quickly was because he wanted to get back to King’s Landing for Cersei’s trial.

So why is Jaime still in the Riverlands in “The Winds of Winter?” And what is he doing at the Twins having dinner with Walder Frey? (Seriously, people still let Walder Frey host dinners?)

SPOILERS AHEAD!

SPOILERS! so they say
Are the root of all evil today
But if you ask for leaks to rise, it’s no surprise
That they’re giving none away

The spoilers taste funny

Walder Frey has been a dangling thread ever since he was ushered offscreen following the Red Wedding in Season 3. But when he appeared a few weeks ago, shouting about how everyone in Westeros was laughing at him, it was a cue that perhaps finally, we would get some kind of closure on him and his family. After all, the North supposedly remembers. (Even if Sansa and Jon were having a bit of an issue with that when trying to round up Houses to join their army.)

Mostly, it seems Jaime went to insult Walder Frey to his face.

Will the Riverlands vote for a long-anticipated “Freyxit” to remove Walder Frey from our midst? Could we please be so lucky?

Yes, we could be just that lucky, to have the dinner served with Frey Pie.

By Arya Stark.

Revenge is a dish best served cold. And Walder Frey’s body will now be cold. Along with his sons’ in the pie.

(By the way, where did she get the face from the Hall of Faces anyway? Did the Faceless Men agree to this?)
