See what happened at Winterfell (Video)

The Northern storyline this season has been nothing but audience wish fulfillment. From the wildlings coming back to the Wall and defeating the traitors who stabbed Jon Snow, to the resurrection some of us have been waiting for since 2011, to the reunion between Sansa and Jon, to last week’s big win over overwhelming odds, everything’s been coming up Stark.

Finally, there is once again a Stark in Winterfell (and she’s not a prisoner of a psychopath.) Jon Snow is no longer bound by silly oaths, and is wearing colors other than black. It’s even looking like he’ll rule Winterfell, since he led the army that took it back from Ramsay Bolton.

Or is he? After all, Sansa was the one who ended up saving that army after Jon fell into Ramsay’s trap. Who will be declared the ruler of Winterfell? And will things continue going the Starks’ way?

We’re just two lost souls swimming in a fish bowl, year after year,
Spoilers over the same old ground.
What have we found?
The same old fears.
Wish you were here.

Ruling has never been easy for Jon. He has this idea that being in charge means being honorable. And so when Davos reveals that Melisandre killed Shireen, Jon does the “honorable” thing. He fires her.

I know. I think this is a pretty dumb move myself.

But hey, Davos gets to feel self-righteous, I suppose. And although Littlefinger worked Sansa over hard, with dreams of the Iron Throne, and the two of them ruling together, so far Sansa seems to have decided that Littlefinger would be her third bad marriage in a row. And she’s quite done with those.

Who rules the North?

Jon Snow rules the North. Not just Warden of the North. King in the North.
