Here’s who’s on the Game of Thrones panel at San Diego Comic Con 2016

HBO has announced what cast and crew members from Game of Thrones will appear at this year’s San Diego Comic Con. The panel will take place on Friday, July 22. Check out HBO’s press release:

"The GAME OF THRONES panel in Hall H at 2:15 p.m. will be moderated by Rob McElhenney. Panelists include: executive producers David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, director Michael Sapochnik and cast members (in alphabetical order) John Bradley (Samwell Tarly), Liam Cunningham (Ser Davos Seaworth), Nathalie Emmanuel (Missandei), Isaac Hemptstead Wright (Bran Stark), Conleth Hill (Varys), Faye Marsay (The Waif), Kristian Nairn (Hodor), Iwan Rheon (Ramsay Bolton) and Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark). Autograph signing is at 4:15 p.m."

Moderator Rob McElhenney, incidentally, is best known for playing Mac on It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia. This comes on the heels of today’s announcement that Matt Shakman, who’s helmed a lot of episodes of that show, will be directing at least one episode of Game of Thrones Season 7. And the unlikely bonds between these two shows strengthen.

Alright, so Sam, Davos, Missandei, Bran, Varys, the Waif, Hodor, Ramsay, and Sansa will all be in attendance, not to mention the guy who directed both “Battle of the Bastards” and “The Winds of Winter,” plus the creators of the series. Should be a good time.

With no offense meant to the likes of Liam Cunningham and Sophie Turner, it seems that a lot of the lead actors—your Kit Haringtons, your Lena Headeys, your Peter Dinklages—are sitting the panel out. That’s consistent with how the panel was comprised last year (that’s last year’s panel in the header image). The big additions are David Benioff and Dan Weiss, who sat out last year’s Comic Con, and Miguel Sapochnik. Surely fans will have questions for the guy who directed the two most popular Game of Thrones episodes of all time.

More information:

"The autograph signings will take place in the Warner Bros. booth #4545. Warner Bros. follows Comic-Con’s ticket drawing/wristband distribution procedure for all signings. All ticket drawings and wristband distributions will take place in the morning of the day of the specific signing at the Sails Pavilion floor, between Ballroom 20 and Rooms 6A, 6BCF and 6DE.GAME OF THRONES fans can follow live coverage of the panel @GameofThrones, and use #GoTSDCC to join the conversation."

We’ll be covering this when the San Diego Comic Con kicks off toward the end of next month.
