Game of Thrones costume designer Michele Clapton debuts GoT-themed jewelry line

Michele Clapton was the costume designer on Game of Thrones for its first five seasons. With the show on the backside of the story and the looks of the characters all set in place for her successor to follow, Clapton moved on to a new job and let Season 6 be handled by others—with a few key exceptions, like Cersei’s badass coronation gown in the finale.

But Clapton isn’t letting go of Game of Thrones completely. Some of her designs have become iconic enough that Etsy jewelers have started making copies for eager cosplayers. So Clapton decided to make her own line of official pieces based on her work on the show.

To that end, she teamed up with jewelry designers Yunus Ascott and Eliza Higginbottom and started a brand new line called MEY Designs. The website boasts that these wares are made up of pieces both inspired by and seen on Game of Thrones. Those include the amazing necklace pieces (perhaps more properly referred to as “Neck Sculptures”) the likes of which we’ve seen Daenerys wear. Check out the images from the MEY Designs Instagram.

This particular line, called “Game of Thrones 2016” only launched last week, and suggests that there may be a line for 2017 and 2018 to go with the next two seasons of the show.

You’ll be shelling out a pretty penny for some of these authentic pieces, though. The priciest run up to over $2200. There are a few more budget-friendly pieces, the least expensive of which run around only $76, for those who can’t afford to adorn themselves like a khaleesi all the time.

The website notes that buyers can expect a 14-week weight for pieces after purchasing them, although that could increase as orders pile up. This might seem like a lot of time, until you remember we have at least ten months., if not more, to wait before Game of Thrones finally returns for Season 7.
