Ten of the best Game of Thrones/Star Wars Mashup GIFs

During this past season of Game of Thrones, many an enterprising fan took to YouTube and added Star Wars-style touches to various Season 6 scenes. This usually meant replacing swords with lightsabers, and maybe tossing in an iconic Star Wars tune to seal the deal. However, Season 6 wasn’t the only season of Game of Thrones to get the Star Wars treatment. One only need peruse YouTube to see the plethora of fan-edited Star Wars/Game of Thrones mashup videos.

In that vein, yours truly has taken to COUB—where users can create their own HD-quality GIFs with sound—to create my very own Game of Thrones/Star Wars mashups. We start with a brief overview of some of the better scenes in which Game of Thrones characters have been edited to be holding lightsabers. It’s Game of Lightsabers: Episode I.

Game of Lightsabers: Episode II—Battle of the Bastards sees Jon Snow wield his deadly Valyrian steel lightsaber against the soldiers of Ramsay Bolton.

Moving on to Game of Lightsabers: Episode III—Attack of Brienne, we follow the Jedi of Tarth’s duel with the dreaded Darth Hound.

Game of Lightsabers: Episode IV—Revenge of the Hound, shows Darth Hound eating every f**king chicken in the room…and then killing the guys who would dare try and stop him.

In Game of Lightsabers: Episode V—Rise of the Viper, the Red Viper of Dorne, Prince Oberyn Martell, takes on the Dark Lord of the Sith, Darth Mountain. Yes, yes, the good guys don’t normally use red lightsabers, but in the Red Viper’s case, I think we can make an exception.

Game of Lightsabers: Episode VI—Cleganebowl Awakens depicts a clash between two powerful Sith as they vie for control of the galaxy, or at least of the Tournament of the Hand.

Game of Lightsabers: Episode VII—The Bronn Menace centers around a duel between Jedi Knight Vardis Egen and the Sith Assassin Bronn No-Last-Name.

Finally, Game of Lightabers: Episode VIII—Arya Strikes Back depicts young Padawan Arya Stark searching for her missing lightsaber, Needle.

Departing from the lightsabers, we have Darth Mountain wreaking havoc on the Faith Militant:

That Darth Mountain…first he alters deals, then he chooses violence.
