Welcome back to another edition of Take the Black, Winter is Coming’s official Game of Thrones podcast. Before we get into the meat of the podcast this week, we discuss the news that Season 8 will apparently be Game of Thrones’ last season, gush over the 20th anniversary A Game of Thrones special edition book, and talk about HBO’s new politically themed marketing push for the Season 6 home video release.
Then, we do some hardcore theorizing about which king or queen will rule the Seven Kingdoms by the time the dust settles on Season 7. Each member of the Take the Black team takes a king or queen who holds a position of power in Westeros at the moment, and makes a case for whether they can win what we’re calling The New War of the Five (gender non-specific) Kings:
Razor: Jon Snow and the North.
Cory Thone: The Night King and the Army of the Dead.
Isis: Daenerys Targaryen, her dragons, and her combined armies of the Dothraki, the Unsullied, House Martell, House Tyrell, and House Greyjoy.
Ani: Cersei and House Lannister’s forces/King’s Landing’s army.
Corey Smith: Euron Greyjoy and the Iron Islanders.
As usual, Take the Black leans on the NSFW side (beware F-bombs). For this episode, we do get into some book topics, and even though the Lady Isis and Lord Thone are not book-readers, they did their homework for the debate, so beware book spoilers.
