Barrueco de Arriba
We’ve got the full schedule of Game of Thrones filming in Carceres, plus a ton of pictures from the show rehearsing scenes at the Barrueco de Arriba, where it’ll film a monster-sized battle before long.
First up: the no- spoilery information! Alfredo Aguilera, the mayor of Malpartida de Cáceres, gave Hoy the full schedule of where and when Game of Thrones will be filming over the take month. This is ostensibly so that locals can avoid the inevitable traffic snarls the activity will create. But for those who might find themselves visiting to see filming, here’re the highlights.
- Trujillo Castle: Tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15
- Malpartida de Cáceres (on Las Breñas, which is the private estate the show is renting): November 16 to 18
- Barrueco de Arriba (Los Barruecos): November 19-December 11th. The mayor confirmed the production will be filming here for 22 days straight.
- Old Town (aka The Monumental Town) of Cáceres. No dates given, suggesting this might be b-roll footage shooting
- The Plaza de las Veletas: December 12th-14th.
As we reported before, hotel rooms are booked for staff members through December 22nd.
On to the spoilers!
I said, spoilers, good god, now, what are they good for?
Absolutely, nothing
Say it again, spoilers, what are they good for?
Absolutely, nothing, listen to me
Spoilers, ain’t nothing but a heartbreaker
Spoilers, friend only to the undertaker
First, let’s check out the lay of the land where Game of Thrones will be filming at the Barrueco de Arriba. It is very pretty.
These pictures were all originally tweeted by Rick Zillow.
This is definitely rehearsals, because you can see cameramen and props loading in.
It’s hard to tell in this pic, but at least one is a familiar figure.
Who is that with him? Is that a trick of the light, or are they wearing a topknot?
Extras are also rehearsing…mostly it looks like they are rehearsing riding in formation.
Hopefully we’ll have more pictures soon.
