Game of Thrones Season 6 box set: Best Buy, Target, and others offer exclusive extras

Season 6 has landed in stores just in time for Black Friday, and no matter where you pick them up, they are loaded to the gills with extras about the epic season. But if you decide to pick them up at either Best Buy or Target, you are going to get your hands on some exclusive items. Choose wisely.

First up, Best Buy has designed a new SteelBook box set for Season 6. The retailer has done this for many of the past seasons, creating unique steel covers for the discs, with each cover focusing on a different part of the show’s world. For example, the Season 4 SteelBook set focused on the Wall…

…while the Season 5 set focused on Meereen.

The new SteelBook zeroes in on Braavos, with the symbol of city’s infamous Iron Bank placed prominently on the front.

These puppies positively gleam on the DVD shelf. In addition to the awesome casing, the set comes with an Iron Bank-themed magnet, perfect for spicing up a bland fridge.

We weren’t entirely sure these editions would be available this year, so it’s nice to see Best Buy come through. They’re retailing for $44.95.

Target also has a special edition of the Season 6 box set, and it comes with a nice surprise: an entire disc of extras about the Battle of Meereen. The bonus disc, entitled Inside the Fight for Meereen, promises and in-depth look at this special effects-laden sequence from “Battle of the Bastards.”

Sounds like a great look at Dany’s final splash on Essos. This one is on sale for $39.99.

Walmart, not about to be left out, also has a special edition going for $39.96. Per the official Game of Thrones Twitter account, this one comes with yet another exclusive special feature.

“Bigger than Reality: Creating the Visual Effects.” Anybody who wants to collect all of the Season 6 special features will have to visit quite a few stores.

Even Barnes & Noble has their own version. Buy there and get a “Mini #GoT Coloring Book.”
