Season 7 filming: First images of the grand battle at el Barrueco de Arriba
By Ani Bundel
The Lannister Army is preparing for the “Battle of Los Barruecos” in new leaked photographs from the set of Game of Thrones Season 7. SPOILERS…well, semi spoilers, ahoy!
As we reported yesterday, the fans in Spain are at it again, with their deep ops work bringing us footage from even the most hard-to-see sets. Courtesy of Los Siete Reinos, we saw a Lannister army marching through Las Breñas, a private estate near Malpartida.
Now, the production has moved on to el Barrueco de Arriba, where it will be for weeks. Let’s take a look at some images from El Periodico Extremadura.

This battle, as we’ve reported before, will be between the Lannister army and Daenerys and her Dothraki soldiers.
According to El Periodico Extremadura, a staff member could be heard shouting, “This is an attack.”
Daenerys will attack the Lannister forces after they raid Highgarden, which will be in the background of the scene.
Below, Dany’s Dothraki calvary rides through the mist.
El Periodico Extremadura quoted Javier Marcos, the proprietor of Los Siete Reinos, with his conception of how the battle will go down, although noted that not every detail is confirmed. “The Lannisters go with carriages loaded after stealing several castles and conquer Highgarden. And then are attacked by the Dothraki and the Unsullied.”
So the Unsullied may very well be involved, too. We’ll be looking out for them.
More to come as the battle filming continues!
