With filming on Game of Thrones Season 7 set to begin tomorrow in the Old Town of Cáceres, streets are shut down and locals are dealing as best they can. According to Hoy.es, restricted areas include the Adarve, the Arco de la Estrella, the Calle Arco de la Estrella, the Plaza de Santa Maria, the Plaza de los Golfines, the Plaza de San Jorge, and Las Veletas. Filming will happen on the 14th and 15th.
There are a few pictures of the stillness of the sets as we wait for the actors and bustle of extras to arrive.
Funny that the production manages to make the different cities of Spain and Croatia look the same, no matter where they are. Girona looked like this last year when it was being dressed as King’s Landing. Dubrovnik looked like this every season. It’s a real feat that, if we didn’t follow the filming schedule, we wouldn’t realize that the cities are different.
According to El Periodico Extremadura, the production has transformed Las Veletas into some kind of market, with bread vendors and a small tavern, while other areas are covered with awnings, with sand and straw on the floor.
