Game of Thrones meets Minions, pro football, D&D and more

So all we’ve been hearing about over the past couple of days is how remarkable the new trailer for Game of Thrones season 7 is…and, well, yeah, everyone has a point. But for the moment, let’s take a break and celebrate a bunch of random, vaguely Game of Thrones-related stuff that exists purely to entertain you, make you laugh, or make you go “hm.” What’s new in the world of whateverware?

Let’s begin with Conan O’Brien, who will be broadcasting live from the San Deigo Comic-Con this year and who has been gifted with his very own Conan O’Brien/White Walker Funko Pop figure:

Next, singer/songwriter/producer Enda Riley wrote, performed, and posted a moody song called “For the Night is Dark and Full of Terrors.” Play it at the next funeral you attend and rake in the accolades.

There’s a video, too, filmed when Reilly visited Game of Thrones shooting locations in Dubrovnik.

As I hear this, I reflect that, yes, I would probably attend a Game of Thrones music festival if there was one.

Next up, And You Films puts a lot of effort into combining Game of Thrones with Minions. It features a bunch of Minions trying to stab Jon Snow to death with bananas. That should tell you all you need to know.

“Only the banana is real.” Words to live by.

Elsewhere, Redditor allhailbeercules imagined what the sigils from the Great Houses of Westeros would look like as football uniforms…

"Fantasy Football: Game of Thrones Logos and Uniforms"

…and fine folks at Forever Geek assigned several of the show’s characters morality alignments from Dungeons and Dragons.

Sample the full set of characters here.

Moving on, a Game of Thrones-themed pop-up bar has opened in Washington, DC, and Twitter has pictures of the fun.

This being a modern bar, visitors can, of course, order cocktails. The Lady Mormont, for example, is a gin drink spiced with honey passionfruit. But for the most accurate Game of Thrones experience, it’s recommended you just down full bottles of wine.

And finally, Vouchercloud has put together a guide to various Game of Thrones fan theories, running the gamut from “Jon Snow and Meera Reed are siblings” to “A Song of Ice and Fire is an adaptation of the Book of Revelations.” Explore the world of plausibility.
