After a surprise appearance yesterday evening at the LEGO Dimensions event, Peter Capaldi took time for one more unexpected appearance. It seems some fans have been camping out for more than a day to get into today’s Doctor Who panel at Comic-Con’s fabled Hall H, and Capaldi stopped by after midnight last night to say hello!
He spent several minutes chatting with fans and taking pictures, many of which ended up on social media this morning:

Hopefully, Capaldi got to sleep in this morning, as he’ll be on stage at Hall H at 2:30 local time for the Official BBC America Doctor Who Panel, alongside Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez, and Steven Moffat. It’s one of the most highly-anticipated events of this year’s Comic-Con (and, of course, we will have fully coverage as it happens).

Capaldi is known for being very friendly with fans, making multiple surprise appearances at the Doctor Who Experience in Cardiff, greeting fans on set during location shoots, and even sending a video message last year (in character) to a young boy who was grieving the loss of his grandmother.
Earlier yesterday evening, Capaldi, Coleman, Gomez, and Moffat were surprise guests at the San Diego Hard Rock Hotel, where LEGO was hosting a special preview event for their upcoming videogame, LEGO Dimensions. Doctor Who is one of many licenses which will have a presence in the game, and last night’s event was the official unveiling of the Doctor Who content (which looks amazing, by the way).
