Comic-Con 2015: Watch the Full Doctor Who Panel Online!

It’s easy to be jealous of the 7,000 or so Doctor Who fans that packed into Hall H yesterday at San Diego Comic-Con to see Peter Capaldi, Jenna Coleman, Michelle Gomez, and Steven Moffat deliver their hour-long Doctor Who panel. Thankfully, the BBC saw fit to release the Series 9 trailer online simultaneously, so we got to witness it in all its glory whether we were there or not. And, of course, Doctor Who Watch delivered live updates of all the highlights on Facebook and Twitter and brought you a full recap late last night.

But it’s still not quite the same as actually being there. Well, thanks to the wonderful folks at Flicks and the City, now we can get one step closer. They recorded the entire panel, and have now released it on YouTube:

More from Winter is Coming

It’s hard to be disappointed in the wake of that amazing Series 9 trailer, but truth be told, the panel was a bit of a letdown. Professional tool Chris Hardwick kept it safe as host, never asking any hard questions and mostly avoided talking about Series 9 at all. It was basically an hour of reflecting on Series 8 and the same vague platitudes the cast and crew had been delivering all day long in their press interviews.

But it’s worth watching all the same, just to see the cast together and to glean a few details about the new season, and to hear Peter Capaldi drop the word “shit” twice in two minutes while delivering some “Scottish philosophy.”

Stay tuned, as we’ll continue to deliver all the Doctor Who Comic-Con news as it breaks. No relevant events are scheduled for today, but tomorrow brings us panels with Matt Smith, John Barrowman, and Titan Comics.
