Another Comic-Con has come and gone, and it was an epic event for geeks of every flavor, including Doctor Who. From the LEGO Dimensions preview Wednesday night to the amazing Doctor Who panel on Thursday, the once-in-a-lifetime Doctor Who Fan Meetup party on Saturday to Peter Capaldi’s surprise appearance on Conan, Doctor Who was everywhere at Comic-Con this year.

More from Winter is Coming

Of course, of the most amazing part of any comic convention is the cosplay, and San Diego Comic-Con brings out the cream-of-the-crop. I’ve seen some incredible cosplay photos over the past few days; everything from The Avengers to Star Trek, and yes, hundreds and hundreds of Harley Quinns.

So, now that the dust has settled, I’ve scoured the internet and social media outlets to dig up the very best Doctor Who cosplayers from Comic-Con 2015. In my book, anyone who takes the time and effort to put together a cosplay outfit is a winner; it’s a level of dedication that I only wish I had. But there are always a few who stand out, so these are the people who brought a smile to my face and made me say “wow.”

10. Clockwork Man

Ah, yes, everyone loves ‘The Girl in the Fireplace,’ but you don’t see too many Clockwork Man cosplayers! Very well done, and quite appropriately creepy.

9. A Gaggle of Doctors

Check out this excellent group of Doctors! I especially love the gender-swapped Third Doctor on the left and the eerily accurate Fourth Doctor on the right. Seriously, did one of these Doctors use a real TARDIS to bring Tom Baker back from the ’70s? The resemblance is uncanny!

8. The Sixth Doctor

I don’t know what impresses me more: that brilliant screen-accurate Sixth Doctor coat or the fabulous blonde wig. Just kidding: it’s the coat. And the vest. And the pants. Seriously, it’s not easy to pull off a 100% accurate Sixth Doctor, but that is damned impressive. Kudos to you, good sir!

7. The Twelfth Doctor

Great Twelfth Doctor cosplay (and pose), but am I the only one detecting a hint of Kevin Costner in there? It’s like Doctor Who-meets-The Bodyguard! “And I…eee…I…will always love Whooooooo!”

Alright, I’ll stop now.

Next: 6. You will be upgraded!

6. Cyberman

If I’m not mistaken, this is the same Cyberman who ended up winning the cosplay contest at the Doctor Who Fan Meetup later that afternoon. Well-deserved, too. That costume is in no need of an upgrade. (See what I did there?)

Next: 5. A very motley crew

5. Return of the Cyberman…and friends

I’m pretty sure that’s the same Cyberman, but now he’s joined by an impressive group of fellow cosplayers, including a Twelfth Doctor, a TARDIS, a Tenth Doctor, and a very accurate River Song. Great looking group!

Next: 4. You're not mating with me, sunshine!

4. The Tenth Doctor and Donna Noble

Wow. A lot of people can put on the suit and the trench coat and take on the Tenth Doctor, but few can capture that David Tennant smirk quite like this guy. Very nicely done — and the scowling Donna doesn’t hurt a bit, either.

Next: 3. Nice to meet you, Martha Jones. Oh, don't start!

3. Martha Jones

I’m a huge Martha Jones fan so maybe I’m a little biased, but I just love this one. She’s got the jacket, the pink shirt peeking out underneath, the hairstyle, and even the Martha pose. Fan-bloody-tastic.

Next: 2. Five rounds rapid!

2. Brigadier Lethbridge-Stewart

Wow. I mean, seriously — wow. Can we all just stand up right now and give this guy a round of applause? Or better yet, a salute? That is an absolutely amazing Brigadier, and the funny thing is, I’ll bet 99% of the people at Comic-Con had no idea who he was supposed to be. “Attack on Titan maybe?” No, no, shut up, you.

Next: 1. Mee mee mee meep!

1. Doctor Beaker (and the Third Doctor)

Yes, that’s a most excellent Third Doctor cosplay on the left, but Doctor Beaker there on the right is my absolute favorite Doctor Who cosplay of Comic-Con, hands down. I laughed out loud the second I saw him and I still chuckle every time I look at this picture. Kudos to you, Doctor Beaker (and to that strange woman with her hand up your coat).

What do you think? Do you agree with my choices? Have you come across any other Doctor Who cosplayers from this year’s Comic-Con that you think should be on the list? Sound off in the comments below!
