HBO’s “Honor The Fallen” Toy Sale Missing An Important Character
By Ani Bundel
With the holidays coming around the corner sooner than you think, HBO has started updating their store for those who have Game of Thrones fanatics on their Christmas lists. This week, they’ve put out an email hawking a new angle: in order to sell merchandise for characters who inconveniently are not still on the show, they’ve introduced “Honor The Fallen: The In Memorium Collection.” Considering how many characters have died in the last five seasons—61 at last count—it’s not surprising that they would go this route.
What is surprising is who did and did not make the list. The email shows items relating to Ned Stark and Khal Drogo (RIP Season 1), Robb Stark (RIP Season 3), Joffrey, The Hound, and Oberyn Martell (RIP Season 4), and Stannis Baratheon (RIP Season 5.)
In addition to those characters, the full collection includes items relating to Renly Baratheon (RIP Season 2), Tywin Lannister, Ygritte, and The Mountain (RIP Season 4), White Walkers (who may not even be alive to begin with) and the Unsullied, who’ve lost a surprising amount of men in action considering they are supposed to be such amazing fighters.
It even has Sansa’s direwolf, Lady (RIP Season 1), and Robb’s direwolf, Grey Wind (RIP Season 3.)
But it doesn’t have anything relating to Jon Snow. Nope. Not a drop. Not a pinch. Not a jot.
This is just in case you conspiracy nuts needed another factoid for your arsenal. An oversight? A deliberate choice because so many aren’t ready to accept it? Or…does Jon Snow live? We report, you decide.
