Maisie Williams Accepts Guinness World Record, Set To Arrive In Girona Today
By Ani Bundel
Maisie Williams is on a roll today. First, she appeared in Entertainment Weekly, who have the first pictures of her accepting the Guinness World Record on behalf of Game of Thrones.
Game of Thrones has set many records over the years. Some were less than deliberate, like setting the stunt record for how many people they burned in a day. Some they kinda wish they hadn’t set, like all those piracy records. But in this case, HBO and Game of Thrones Season 5 set a record they worked for and can be proud of.
Game of Thrones aired the largest simultaneous broadcast of a television drama when the second episode of the most recent season was simulcast to 173 countries and territories around the world, beginning at 2 a.m. on April 20.
But that’s not the only reason Williams is in the news. According to El Punt Avui, Williams will be flying in to Girona later today, the first of the wave of cast members who will be traveling to the various Spanish locations to film scenes for Season 6. For those who were looking for proof that the first scenes in Girona will be for Braavos, this is the best evidence we have for it. We won’t list the hotel (though it’s at the link), but it should be noted that there are quite a few reservations that the local outlet has confirmed as being for the cast in more than one hotel. Keep your eyes peeled. Stars are coming.
