Game of Thrones actress Gwendoline Christie has been very busy lately. With Season 6 filming underway, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay—Part 2 being released in November, and the highly anticipated Star Wars: The Force Awakens hitting theaters in December, our dear Brienne of Tarth has her plate quite full. To top it off, the global Star Wars marketing campaign for The Force Awakens (Force Friday) began at midnight, and Gwendoline Christie’s Captain Phasma merchandise took center stage.
As reported by me on our fellow Fansided site, Dork Side of the Force, Christie’s Captain Phasma mask reveals some cool information about the film. Careful for spoilers, especially if you want to remain as pure as the driven snow…on Hoth. Make sure to turn up your speakers.
Gwendoline’s voice is smooth and sultry, a nice fit for a badass female villain. Although I must admit I was expecting to hear a more modified or slightly gruffer voice. There’s also the Captain Phasma costume…in case you were wondering who to go to your Halloween party as. Again, be wary of spoilers, as the costume description does divulge some pretty big clues to Episode VII.
There’s also Gwendoline Christie’s debut in the Star Wars 12 inch action figure toy-line:
Her very own Funko Pop Captain Phasma:
And hey, even your pets can get in on the fun by owning their very own Gwendoline Christie as Captain Phasma chew toy:
As you can see, Gwendoline is very much in demand. I think it’s awesome that the actress is finally getting some of these huge movie roles, and her turn as Brienne of Tarth on Game of Thrones surely has something to do with her success. Star Wars: The Force Awakens premieres in theaters on December 18. If you want to know more Christie’s role in Episode VII, and about Star Wars in general, check out Dork Side of the Force.
Next: Theon is definitely returning to the Iron Islands—It’s a Greyjoy Family Reunion in Ireland
