Pedro Pascal and Thomas Brodie-Sangster wish they could return to Game of Thrones

Valar morghulis. All men must die, and nobody knows that better than a Game of Thrones actor. The show is famous for killing off its cast of characters, and plenty of actors have come on board only to be ushered off in brutal, bloody ways. Today, we catch up with a few of them.

Bloody a show as it is, being on Game of Thrones is great for an actor’s career, and recently both Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell) and Thomas Brodie-Sangster (Jojen Reed) have gone on record as saying that they’d love to come back, assuming that the laws of life and death can be rewritten. After all, Jon Snow’s was killed in “Mother’s Mercy,” but that hasn’t stopped mass speculation that he’ll return, so why not bring a couple of other characters back with him?

First up, Pascal sat down with Vulture to discuss a couple of his current projects, including Narcos, a Netflix series about the hunt for drug kingpin Pablo Escobar. Inevitably, the subject of Game of Thrones came up, and Pascal waxed rhapsodic about his time on the show before having this exchange:

"Vulture: And who knows? Maybe you’ll return in a flashback, depending on what they do with Bran’s weirwood-tree visions.Pascal: Wouldn’t that be wonderful? I would be a leaf on that tree! I don’t care! I love those guys."

So there you have it. Pascal enjoyed his time on Game of Thrones so much he’d be willing to come back as a plant.

Pascal also talked a little about his time on Buffy the Vampire Slayer (for those who may not have realized it, he played Buffy’s short-lived friend in the Season 4 premiere), which is a little ironic considering that he’s starring as the villain in his own vampire movie, Bloodsucking Bastards, which just had a limited release in theaters and become available On Demand. Check out the trailer.

Meanwhile, Thomas Brodie-Sangster admitted on Good Morning Britain that he’d also like to come back. “No one knows what goes in that show,” he said. “It would be fun and I had a great time doing it. It’s a fun show to be a part of.” A shame about his character getting stabbed in the gut and incinerated in the Season 4 finale, then.

Shifting gears a bit, behold this trailer for The Witch, a very well-reviewed horror movie that premiered at Sundance earlier this year. It stars Kate Dickie (Lysa Arryn) as a wife and mother in a Puritan family that lives in the New England wilderness during the 17th century. There’s no word on a wide release yet, but it looks interesting, so hopefully it’ll get one soon.

Finally, because we couldn’t find another place to put this information, Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson (the Mountain) is up to his old tricks, by which I mean he’s performing ridiculous feats of strength. He recently tried to break his own “unofficial” record for the over-the-bar weight toss, which involves heaving an enormous weight that looks like a kettle ball over a pole, at the Scottish Highland Gathering & Games. Unfortunately, he fell an inch short of the 19 feet and 3 inches he threw the thing last time, which is still around 19 feet and 2 inches farther than I could probably throw the thing, so I still say kudos.

And yes, including Björnsson in this post is cheating a little bit, since his character isn’t technically dead, but he may not be technically alive, either, so we’re calling it fair.
