The Great Sept Rises as The High Sparrow Arrives in Girona (UPDATE: Sparrows and Tyrells)

We’re down to our final week of filming in Girona. Unlike last season, where entire groups of seemed to arrive overseas at once for filming, the city of Girona has seen a trickling in of the big names over the course of the weeks they been in residence. That’s partly due to the nature of how filming was scheduled. With the city standing in for three different locations, all filming semi-concurrently, it didn’t make sense to bus everyone in at once to the area, like they did in Croatia, where Dubrovnik’s Old City had to be completely turned over from one set to the next, or in Spain, where each location only stood in for one area.

So far we’ve seen a lot of Maisie Williams. John Bradley and Hannah Murray (Sam and Gilly) look to have come and gone. Yesterday, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau turned up. Today it’s Jonathan Pryce (the High Sparrow)’s turn.

That’s because his Sept is nearly ready.

(Clearly, statues are for heathens, and must be covered up.)

Via Facebook, Coster-Waldau is still in town.

And apparently, so is his horse!

Now all we need is to find Dean Charles Chapman and Natalie Dormer, and we’ll be set for tomorrow’s big scene.

UPDATE (MIND THE SPOILERS): Yet more images of the Sept of Baelor being set up for tomorrow’s major scene are coming in.

As you can see, the steps leading to the Sept are lined with members of the Faith Militant, so the High Sparrow is digging in for a standoff. As we’ve discussed before (head back if you don’t want to be spoiled), the scene will involve Jaime Lannister and a group of Tyrell soldiers heading to the Sept of Baelor, where the High Sparrow will release Margaery into their custody without a fight. Could the woman in this image, the one with long brown hair and a tan shift, be Natalie Dormer as Margaery?

Speaking of Tyrell soldiers, here’s a shot of them forming up, courtesy of Watchers on the Wall.

There’s also a short video of the Tyrell soldiers marching down the streets of King’s Landing, their boots all a’ clompin’.

If things go according to spoilers, there won’t be need to use any of this force, but as a powerful Westerosi house, it never hurts to demonstrate your power to wreck stuff.
