Behind-the-scenes pics: Game of Thrones Set Up in Peñíscola Continues
By Ani Bundel
As the cameras roll on Game of Thrones Season 6 in Navarra (sadly without any pictures as of yet), the bulk of the set and costumes arrived in the dead of night in Peñíscola, where the show will shoot in early October. According to Levante-EMV, The trucks mainly came directly from Girona, which suggests this new location is in fact standing in for one of the three cities that Game of Thrones has already filmed parts of earlier in the month: Oldtown, Braavos, or King’s Landing. As more pieces and parts arrive, the curious try to get a glimpse inside the shooting locations. So far, they’ve been rebuffed. The article calls the cultural center that the show has made it’s headquarters “a bunker.”
Several outlets have images from the current set up in the Plaza Santa María. The major set that’s been added so far is the wooden facades to the metal walkways that connect the archways along the building’s upper floor, and down the steps on the side.
Costume tests for the extras are apparently underway, though no one knows if those costumes are fashions from Westeros or Essos. El Mundo, which posted the above picture, complains that everyone so far is taking their nondisclosure agreements seriously. We’ll find out more soon enough, once the selected extras start flooding out of the trailers in full garb and into the streets.
