First Pictures from Filming Game of Thrones Season 6 In Almería
By Ani Bundel
Yesterday marked the beginning of the final leg of filming Game of Thrones Season 6 in Spain. The production kicked off their tour of the city of Almería by heading out to the nearby Andalusian village of Pechina, near to where we’ve seen them building what looks to be a Dothraki encampment in the El Chorrillo Sierra Alhamilla area.
As you may remember, this was a location where the show was going for the traditional cast of thousands, with about 2,400 extras selected. This is merely a small portion. But of course, the question I have is, who are those on the horses? We know Iain Glen has been spotted by several locals. Is this perhaps part of the Brotastic Adventures of Daario and Jorah?
We can probably forgive the shirt. The man *is* trying to cover up that he has greyscale after all.
Spotted by Melty.es, this photo is with the driver of a local car service. (Note the logo on the guy’s shirt.)
While the hordes of extras traipse through the desert, the final touches are going up at the village.
These pictures, caught by Agence France-Presse and Ideal.es show that though this set has been worked on since mid august, there are still final tweaks before filming here begins.
And the local press is very excited.
We’ll post further pictures as they surface.
