US Ambassador to Spain Accidentally Tweets a Minor Spoiler

facebooktwitterreddit

With Game of Thrones pouring money into the Spanish economy hand over fist during the filming of Season 6, it’s not that surprising that the US ambassador to Spain, James Costos, would see fit to pop by and visit with the American producers that have done so much to not only put the local population to work, but promote tourism in the country for years to come. Costos has other ties as well to the production, having worked as an executive for HBO prior to his appointment in 2013.

So what was the spoiler he tweeted? Well, it’s not a huge one—no pictures posing with Kit Harington, or even with Emilia Clarke. But last night he stopped by the set to look in on the overnight filming in progress, and got a photo with the men in charge of the scene.

—————————-MINOR SPOILER BELOW—————————-

So! Now we know that this current scene being filming in the El Chorrillo Sierra Alhamilla area is being directed by Dan Sackheim. We know from the line up released back over the summer that he is in charge of episodes 3 and 4 this season. So with that tidbit of knowledge, we can presume that this scene in the desert where Dany is taken to the Dothraki village (Vaes Dothrak?) is happening early on, in either the third or fourth episodes. It’s not a huge spoiler, but it does give us a sense of context for what we’re seeing.

Or in some cases, not seeing. Melty.com has a video that is from last night’s shooting that proves how hard it is to get any sort of footage from the site—especially in the dark.

Oh well. Hopefully pictures (slightly clearer ones) will follow soon.
