With the week-long delay at the Riverrun filming location at Corbet, it looks like the Lannister army has gone on break from the siege, by which I mean that the production has reportedly folded up the red Lannister tents previously arrayed in front of the castle. Perhaps the army decided a nice vacation on the sands of Dorne was in order? No wait, we did that already…
The Ents are perhaps on the side of the Tullys then?
Operating under the assumption that the production hasn’t actually filmed anything at Corbet yet, odds are that Irish Thrones is correct and the production has only folded up the tents temporarily to keep them from getting damaged—the delay would have exposed them to the elements for longer than planned.
Also, Belfast Live had a curious item yesterday. According to that outlet, the government officials inspecting the Riverrun set claimed that filming had not been suspended pending the inspection, which is contrary to all the other reports we’ve heard. Perhaps they mean that filming on Game of Thrones in general was not suspended in Northern Ireland? (There are certainly other places the show can work while one set is paused.) Because as far as we can tell, filming has certainly been suspended in Corbet. It’s rather obvious to observers that the production’s plan did not include leaving the tents up in the elements for this long, hence their being taken down to keep them from weathering. That sort of inefficiency just isn’t how this production rolls.
Finally, there’s been a shocking new Kit Harington sighting:
More as it develops.
