White Walker Unit Pushes Season 6 Filming Towards Conclusion

It BEGINS….. Or rather, when it comes to Game of Thrones Season 6, it is the beginning of the end…check out this shot of a clapperboard for the Season 6 finale, tweeted out by director Miguel Sapochnik (of “Hardhome” fame).

There are a *lot* of places that are running around yelling that this is a major spoiler, and that “White Walker Unit” means that the show is filming White Walkers. Not actually so. The show just has a tendency to name their filming units after major figures in the show. The “Wolf Unit” doesn’t film only Stark plots. The “Dragon Unit” doesn’t follow around Dany specifically. Usually, those are the only two units in use, but the show has previously had a “Raven Unit.” It did not only film ravens.

Sapochnik concurs:

Sorry guys. I want a huge White Walker battle as much as you do. But this is not proof of that. On the other hand, the presence of a third unit would tend to suggest that Season 6 will be chock-full of material.

Elsewhere…

This, on the other hand, is proof that at least three of the four living Stark siblings are together in Belfast, though perhaps not all filming together. Can we hope it’s proof that at least the three of them make it to the finale?
