We’re very close to the simultaneous release of Telltale’s Game of Thrones season finale as well as the retail box copy of the full season—both products drop tomorrow. To remind us all of our awful decision-making, Telltale’s released a new trailer summing up some of the key decisions made in the previous episodes, plus a little teaser of what’s to come in the finale, titled “The Ice Dragon.” Check it out:
Most of these key decisions tended to weigh slightly unevenly in favor of one or the other, with two hilariously oddball exceptions. First, an astounding 92% of players opted to off the Lannister guard. As one of the 8%, I must say: SHAME. SHAME. SHAME. (This is going to bite you in the ass, is all I’m saying.) The other decision is more fascinating: choosing who to help in Drogon’s lair. Beskha won out with a mere 51%, which really highlights the kind of high-quality storytelling that went into Asher’s arc on Essos.
As for the finale teaser, it’s mostly a mixture of war-like images—Forrester versus Whitehill, it’s going down—mixed with some very tantalizing glimpses of Gared in the icy North. Is that the North Grove? Is Cotter’s sister chanting some ancient ritual? I don’t know, but it all looks very exciting.
So, once again, “The Ice Dragon” will be available to download on literally every gaming platform (yes, including iOS and Android) starting tomorrow, November 17th. You can also purchase the full season on Playstation 3/4 or Xbox 360/One in a fancy retail box on the same day, with the European release coinciding with the PC retail box set release on November 20th. Valar morghulis, everyone.
