Cast roundup: Jerome Flynn in Ripper Street, Maisie Williams on Doctor Who, and Rose Leslie on Luther

It’s time to play catch-up with some of our favorite Game of Thrones cast members. As always, they’re a busy bunch.
To start, Amazon just dropped the trailer for Season 4 of Ripper Street, in which Jerome “Bronn” Flynn plays Detective Sergeant Bennet Drake, who’s charged with policing the White Chapel district of London shortly after the infamous Jack the Ripper murders. The plot has developed in some other directions since then, but it looks like Bennet will still have his hands full in Season 4.
Ripper Street has walked quite the twisty path since debuting on the BBC back in 2012. The BBC cancelled it after its second season, but it was picked up by Amazon, where it now streams on Amazon Prime. There are so many opportunities for a show to keep going nowadays after it’s been cancelled.
Next up, Maisie Williams (Arya) discusses her role in the upcoming Doctor Who season finale, which will air tomorrow, December 5, on BBC One. Williams has cropped up a couple of times throughout the show’s current season as the immortal Ashildr. Apparently, she made an impression on showrunner Steven Moffat, as she was asked back. “I didn’t know that I’d be back again but I’m glad I am because after the end of the previous episode that I’m in, it was nice to have something that would round off my character nicely,” she said.
Williams joins Game of Thrones cast members like Harry Lloyd, David Bradley, Iain Glen, Diana Rigg, and a whole bunch of others who have also appeared on Doctor Who. Basically, Doctor Who is to British actors what Law & Order and its spinoffs are to American ones—everyone will have a guest spot sooner or later.

Finally, Rose Leslie (the dearly departed Ygritte) talked about her role in the upcoming fourth season of Luther, and she had nothing but praise for co-star Idris Elba. “It wasn’t verbal,” she explained, “and I sound incredibly pervy right now, but the way he operates on and off camera is something I’ll take with me.”
That doesn’t sound that bad. This being an interview with In Style magazine, she also took a bunch of fashion photographs that are beyond my ability to intelligently discuss, but you can see them here.
