The Doctor Dances on the Titanic: 1912 sounds like something right out of Doctor Who, but it is an event in the real world.
Over the millennia, the Doctor has crossed paths with both the RMS Titanic and the spaceship cruiser Titanic (‘Voyage of the Damned‘), which derived its name from the original. On another note, as we have seen quite a few times, the Doctor dances. A Doctor Who episode was even named in honor of his fondness for the activity. And this past December, Strictly Come Dancing did a tribute to Doctor Who.
It is fairly common for fans of Doctor Who to hold dances with the show as the theme. For Whovians on the west coast of the United States, there is one coming up soon! The Doctor Dances on the Titanic: 1912 will be held at Alameda Elks Lodge #1015 in Alameda, CA on Saturday, April 2nd, from 6:30 PM to 12 AM. The event is being organized by PEERS (The Period Events & Entertainments Re-Creation Society, Inc.). The following is from the description on the Facebook event page:
"Due to some kind of wibbley wobbley, timey-wimey mix-up, the Doctor finds himself on board RMS Titanic on April 15, 1912. Again. This time with Rose, Captain Jack Harkness, several of the Doctor’s other incarnations and a formidable antagonist. What a dilemma! And what will they do? Obviously, dance!More from Doctor WhoNcuti Gatwa’s Doctor Who Christmas special is a “complete reinvention”Ncuti Gatwa is “so nervous” to take on Doctor Who roleThe Doctor and Donna are better than ever in “Wild Blue Yonder”Take the Black: House of the Dragon season 2 trailer hints, the Fallout show, and moreJodie Whittaker didn’t pick up on any of the hate for her version of the DoctorBangers and Mash plays the greatest hits of the Edwardian age – from elegant rotary waltzes, hesitation waltzes, and mixers to lively polkas and two-steps to the latest dances from the Americas – the tango and the ragtime One Step.
