If Game of Thrones has returned, then it’s time for the best discussion show on the web to return as well. For those who may have somehow missed this for the last few seasons, Funny of Die’s Gay of Thrones is the best take by a hairstylist on Game of Thrones you will have the chance to watch this week. (And considering the state of Emilia Clarke’s wig, I wouldn’t be surprised if host Jonathan Van Ness got an 3:00 a.m. emergency phone call to fix things, STAT!)
Gay of Thrones S6 E1 Recap: The Read Woman from Funny Or Die
But Funny or Die aren’t the only ones getting in on the act. Screen Junkies, which is in charge of the Honest Trailers series, already did a video on Game of Thrones back in 2014. That episode focused on the first three seasons. Now, to celebrate the show’s return this year, they’ve added a second installment covering Season 4-5. The best part is the cover image that it’s used for the video—rather appropriate considering the end of the Season 6 premiere, no?
But my personal favorite story of the week comes from Pornhub, of all places. It’s common knowledge that Game of Thrones is popular, but did you know that when the show comes on air, it makes such a dent in viewership of other media that even porn ratings go down? According to its numbers, Pornhub (the YouTube of porn) saw a 4% drop in users on Sunday from 9pm-10pm EST. As Uproxx puts it:
That may not seem like much, but with 60 million daily visitors, that 4 percent represents hundreds of thousands of people altering their porn schedules to make room for the non-return of Jon Snow. Also worth noting: Pornhub traffic didn’t return to normal until after midnight, which implies it took America over two hours to recover fully from that Melisandre scene at the end of the episode.
