“Book of the Stranger,” aka the best-titled episode of Game of Thrones in recent memory, airs tonight. Here’s where and when and how to watch it.
- Start Time: May 15, 2016, 9 p.m. EST
- TV Info: HBO
- Episode: Season 6, Episode 4, “Book of the Stranger”
- Writers: David Benioff and Dan Weiss
- Director: Daniel Sackheim
- Run time: 59 minutes
At 59 minutes, “Book of the Stranger” is the longest episode of Season, and it’ll stay that way until much later in the season.
Here’s HBO’s official description. Let’s see if we can pick through the vagueries.
"Tyrion (Peter Dinklage) strikes a deal. Jorah (Iain Glen) and Daario (Michiel Huisman) undertake a difficult task. Jaime (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and Cersei (Lena Headey) try to improve their situation."
We can assume that whatever deal Tyrion strikes will follow up on his message to the slavers of Astapor, Yunkai, and Volantis that he sent off in “Oathbreaker.” That bit about Jaime and Cersei seems vague even for HBO, but it’ll be nice to see Jorah and Daario again after they sat the last two episodes out.
Also, we’re four episodes in to the new year and characters are still making their Season 6 debuts. This week, we’ve got little Robin Arryn…

…and Littlefinger, seen here getting down to business.

It seems that Littlefinger went back to the Vale following his brief stop-off in King’s Landing last season. What might he do with the Knights of the Vale?
We’ll also check back in with the Ironborn tonight. The show might need every one of those 59 minutes.
The official images from the episodes are wide and varied. In addition to all that other stuff the episode will tackle, we’ll also head to the Wall…

…and to Vaes Dothrak, where Daenerys is still trying to think her way out of this sticky situation. And apparently she found time to de-tangle her hair.

What do you hope will happen in “Book of the Stranger” What do you dread? Talk about anything and everything having to do with the episode here, both before and during the actual program.
We’ll be updating the site with reactions to big moments as the episode goes on, and follow up with longer recaps a bit later.
