HBO confirms title for Episode 8 of Game of Thrones Season 6

Last week, possible titles for Episodes 8, 9, and 10 of Game of Thrones Season 6 leaked on the Sky Atlantic Germany website. Now, HBO has confirmed one of those titles on its own website. What will the title of Episode 8 be?

“No One.”

Usually, HBO sends out a press release that also includes a synopsis when it wants to officially unveil an episode title, so it’s unclear if this is a minor mistake or if a synopsis is forthcoming. In any case, it seems that the leak was correct so far as Episode 8 was concerned. It will be called “No One,” which implies an Arya-heavy hour.

Arya spent the first chunk of this season developing her assassination skills, learning to fight, mix poisons, and practice the art of deception. In “Blood of My Blood,” she finally decided that professional assassination wasn’t for her, but she still has all those skills. What will she do with them?

Before she can do anything else, she’ll have to deal with the Waif, who’s been sanctioned by the Faceless Men to murder Arya for disobeying the order’s commands. Assuming Arya gets through that, and I think we all are, she has a job opportunity lined up: Lady Crane all but offered her a spot in her acting troupe, and who knows where those guys might travel?

If the leak was right about Episode 8, the odds are good that it was also correct about Episodes 9 and 10. A week ago, we reported that the titles for those episodes were as follows:

  • Episode 9: “The Battle of the Bastards”
  • Episode 10: “The Winds of Winter”

Ominous titles both. We should also note that all three of these episodes will be lengthy. “Blood of My Blood” ran for 52 minutes and “The Broken Man” will run for only 51, but “No One” will last for 59 minutes, “The Battle of the Bastards” for 60, and “The Winds of Winter” for a staggering 69 (that’s the longest episode in the show’s history).
