Doctor Who: Convention Fun with Actors

Actors of various franchises love to let loose at conventions… none more so, arguably, than those of the Doctor Who family.

It appears as if Alex Kingston may have started a budding trend amongst friends of the Doctor when she began wearing Necomimi cat ears to conventions such as Chicago TARDIS 2015 and Salt Lake City Comic Con 2016. (I wonder if this could be considered Catkind appropriation.)

Michelle Gomez has had an animalistic streak herself lately. She donned fox ears and a tail at conventions such as Fan Expo Dallas 2016 and MegaCon Orlando 2016. While Gomez’s do not seem to be the sort that react to brain waves as Kingston’s do, they still fit with the same basic kawaii furry concept.

Check it out:

She appears to have at least two sets of fox ears, as well as a set that could easily be interpreted as those of either a fox or a cat.

I highly recommend following her on Twitter. You will get a frequent stream of awesomeness.

When John Barrowman shows up, you just know that something amazing is about to happen. At MegaCon, he donned a long red wig and — pretending to have a fishtail — sat demurely on stage as he sang ‘Part of Your World’ from Disney’s The Little Mermaid… up until he forgot the words.

Daleks have been known to tell the Doctor that he would make a good Dalek. Well, Peter Capaldi put this suggestion to the test at Dallas Comic Con… at least superficially. It turns out that he does a spot on impression of the voice of a Dalek.
